It's Cool to Know: Depositing
Your Checks from Home PC
With ATM we became free from long waits in lines at banks waiting to make deposits. Very soon we
may be able to make the same deposits from our
home PC's. Some banks are looking into the tech-
nology that would make it possible. You would scan
your checks and then submit them to the bank online
for deposit.
This system (Remote Deposit Capture) in reverse is
already being used by merchants who take checks in
their businesses everyday. It has been modified and
may be available if banks decide to offer it. Check
with your bank to see if they are or will be offering
the service.
